Installed a Ranco dual teperature controller:

(top right in the picture.)

Basically its a digital controller with a temperature probe. The probe goes in the tank and there are 2 110V outputs that you hook up to it. 1 is triggered by a programmed "low" temperature - this turns on an outlet - which I have hooked to 550 watts of Pro-heat heaters. The other is triggered by a programmed "high" temperature - this turns on the other outlet which is hooked up to a 20" fan that's mounted over the sump.

I have the low set to 79 and the high to 82. It stays pretty constant at 81.

I also put in a blue rope light - this goes on at night and it's a moonlight simulator. Not sure if it's going to make a difference - but I had it - so I hooked it up. Its about 18ft long.

I also put a frag rack in place in the 30 gallon long sand tank :

Before:

The structure of the rack - eggcrate connected together with zipties..

Here's the result. The tank is never cleaned, it's "au natural".

In the picture, it's only running 1 LOA 65W bulb. I just put the other one on today. So with 2 65W PC bulbs it should grow frags pretty well. I have a couple colts and a couple zoanthids under it now. I'll add a few more in a week or so.
