I got two Tunze 6060 powerheads (the cheapest of the streams) from my wife for Christmas last year and I love the flow they provide. My AGA 150 MF has almost too much flow for my softies and anemones (each is rated at 1600 gph).

When I shut off the power to the tank to replace a few outlets and switches recently, only one started back up. Sheise!! I tried brush cleaning, soaking in vinegar solution, complete disassembly, all to no avail. It would just hum.

I noticed a bulge in the lining of the rotor housing and e-mailed my situation to Roger of Tunze USA.

Needless to say, they shipped me a new motor assembly free of charge, no questions asked and I now have my two Tunze's working again.

I doubt you will get the same from Hydor or Maxi-jet. Thanks Tunze.

Cool! So, they didn't try to give you any hassles for running them on a wavemaker? I know Tunze says you can run their nano streams on a wavemaker, but they should run for at least five minutes in between switches.

Roger has always been great to me when I owned Tunze. He never asked how old the pumps were and no questions were asked, he simply mailed me new parts.

You can't ask for better service.

Yeah, let's just pray that Eco Tech Marine is the same after our warranties expire, eh Ryan? Wink

I'd have to say, don't count on it. Smile

I don't know why but I don't have confidence they will. Roger's service was out of the ordinary IMO.

Gorilla, you naughty boy. Sounds like something I would have done.

Have you owned Tunzes? I know people who love Korallias--are they comparable? I like the magnetic/suction mount.
